Texas Grandpa’s Heartwarming Dog Train Takes Rescued Pups on Adventures

Published on

In a Texas neighborhood plagued by the heartbreaking sight of abandoned dogs left to fend for themselves, 80-year-old Eugene Bostick has become an unlikely hero.

Eugene took it upon himself with his brother to care for these neglected animals.

“We started feeding these abandoned animals, letting them in, taking them to the vet to get them spayed and neutered. We made a place for dog rescues to live,” Eugene shared with Dodo.

Eugene’s ingenuity shines when he sees a man with a tractor and has a lightbulb moment. “Dang, that would do for a dog train,” he thought.

With his welding skills, Eugene repurposed plastic barrels, outfitting them with wheels and connecting them to create a makeshift train.

“I started with my tractor… I’d put 4-5 dogs in there and take them riding,” Eugene explained. But as more dogs found their way to him, he knew he needed a more extensive solution.

“Whenever these adorable dogs hear me hooking the tractor up to it, man, they get so excited,” he added.

Now, Eugene takes these rescued pups on adventures at least twice a week, providing them with the love, care, and sense of joy they deserve.
