Scarlett Johansson epitomized classic Hollywood glamour as she received her star on the Walk of Fame today.
The actress, known for her stunning curves, donned a figure-hugging dress for the ceremony on Hollywood Boulevard.
Her fitted shift dress featured a floral design on the upper half and a black and white checkered pencil skirt.
With her hair styled in an old Hollywood updo and her lips painted a striking red to match her platform pumps, the “Lost in Translation” star posed for photos with her star and greeted the audience with a radiant smile. She even knelt on the pavement to place her hands on the plaque.
Johansson expressed her gratitude to her family, friends, fans, and colleagues on the stage before Madame Tussauds wax museum. Her good friend and “Avengers” co-star Jeremy Renner also delivered a speech at the ceremony.
Ana Martinez, Hollywood Walk of Fame producer, praised Johansson, stating, “We are thrilled to honor an actress who has graced the screen and stage since she was eight. Over the past 18 years, Scarlett has matured into a recognized cinematic presence with an impressive body of work.”
Johansson’s career continues to flourish. Alongside promoting her new “Avengers” film with co-stars Jeremy Renner and Chris Hemsworth, it was announced this week that she would be reviving one of Elizabeth Taylor’s most famous roles.
Johansson will play Maggie the Cat in the Broadway production of Tennessee Williams’ “Cat on a Hot Tin Roof.” She told Variety magazine, “I cannot wait to get to it. I’m exhilarated and terrified, but I think in a good way.”
Recently, fans first saw Johansson as Janet Leigh on the set of the upcoming film about legendary director Alfred Hitchcock.
She arrived on set in her clothes before transforming into Leigh with short blonde curls and a pair of high-waisted cropped trousers, topped with a black hooded coat.
Johansson was also in casual attire, wearing grey jogging bottoms and a grey hooded jumper as she left her trailer.
Dame Helen Mirren, also part of the cast, was spotted on set in character as Hitchcock’s wife, Alma.
Mirren, wearing a gingery wig and headscarf, emerged from her trailer in a white robe and, later, a Korean oversized black jacket over a grey suit.
The film, directed by Sacha Gervasi, will explore Hitchcock’s efforts to get “Psycho” made while Hollywood bigwigs considered it beneath him.
Described as a love story between the director and his wife, Alma, the movie is set to be released next year.
Alfred Hitchcock, renowned for his work in films such as “North by Northwest,” “Vertigo,” “The Birds,” and “Rear Window,” had a prolific career spanning 60 years, earning two Golden Globes, eight Laurel Awards, and lifetime achievement awards.
