Scarlett Johansson returned to the spotlight at the 2021 American Cinematheque Gala, her first public event since welcoming her son Cosmo in August.
Dressed in a stylish white Versace suit with a crystal-embellished corset, the 36-year-old “Avengers” actress looked radiant on the red carpet.
During the event, Johansson embraced her husband, comedian Colin Jost, and shared with Entertainment Tonight how much she’s enjoyed spending time at home with their newborn.
“I feel very lucky to have this time to enjoy the early stages of childhood with our son,” she said, describing her mindset as being in a “baby bliss bubble.”
She also mentioned that her seven-year-old daughter Rose, from her previous marriage to Romain Dauriac, finds her baby brother “cute” but is often too “busy” to fully engage with him.
Marvel Studios president Kevin Feige honored Johansson at the gala, hinting at a potential collaboration on a “top-secret” project that would bring her back in a directing role.
Johansson, who produced the Marvel movie Black Widow, made history as the first actor to take on both acting and production responsibilities for the studio.
This project also led to a legal dispute, with Johansson alleging that Disney violated her contract by releasing Black Widow simultaneously in theaters and on its streaming platform.
The lawsuit was eventually settled, and Johansson expressed gratitude, telling USA Today she felt “very lucky” to have been able to stand up for what she believed was right.
