Rescuers Brave High Altitudes to Save Dog Stranded on Mountain

In a heartwarming tale of courage and compassion, a group of climbers in Mexico embarked on a mission to rescue a stranded dog who had been stuck atop an inactive volcano for nearly a month.

The adventurous mixed-breed dog, Canelo had followed a team of mountain climbers up Pico de Orizaba, the highest peak in Mexico, and found himself unable to make the descent.

Despite freezing temperatures and harsh conditions, Canelo managed to survive independently until help arrived.

They were led by Layo Aguilar, a team of experienced and amateur climbers assembled to bring Canelo to safety.

They took turns carrying the brave canine in a backpack as they navigated the treacherous terrain of the mountain.

Aguilar shared his emotional connection with Canelo on social media, describing how he felt the dog responded to human affection despite his ordeal. The bond between them grew more robust with each step down the mountain.
