A routine drive along a Los Angeles freeway took an unexpected turn for one motorist as they prepared to exit. Amidst the greenery near the ramp, they spotted two black ears poking through the bushes.
Initially, the motorist thought it was a coyote, but a closer look revealed a trembling black German Shepherd mix dog, alone and frightened by the passing cars.
This dog had been surviving near the highway for weeks, with no one stopping to assist her. That day marked a turning point as the driver, unable to leave her behind, shared the dog’s whereabouts online, appealing to the public for help.

Compassionate strangers soon answered the call, arriving at the exit ramp in hopes of rescuing the scared dog. However, the frightened canine, later named Miracle, fled in panic, too afraid to accept their help.
Suzette Hall of Logan’s Legacy 29, a dog rescue group based in Irvine, California, learned of Miracle’s plight and was moved to assist.
The situation grew even more urgent after news of a nearby freeway accident emerged, causing concern for Miracle’s safety. Hall urged local residents to inform her if they spotted Miracle again.
A few days later, Miracle returned to her usual spot. Not wasting any time, Hall drove to the location with the intent to save the beleaguered animal. Upon arrival, she saw Miracle hidden in the bushes, surrounded by fast-moving traffic.

In a Facebook post, Hall shared, “It was a dangerous situation for both of us. I had to navigate among cars with my large trap. I was scared, but I knew Miracle was too, and any mistake could have had dangerous consequences.”
Hall set up a humane trap filled with treats, careful to give Miracle space. Enticed by the food, Miracle eventually entered the trap. Overwhelmed by emotion, Hall found Miracle safe inside when she returned.
Although still trembling and unsure, Miracle allowed Hall to gently lift her from the crate. A flicker of hope appeared in her eyes as she looked at her rescuer.
Hall took Miracle to the vet, where a thorough examination confirmed she was in good health.

Subsequently, Hall’s friend, Jeanette, offered to foster Miracle. In her new temporary home, Miracle gradually relaxed.
The constant noise of traffic and makeshift shelter in the bushes were replaced by a soft bed and gentle care from someone who truly cared about her well-being.
Today, Miracle enjoys her days feeling safe and cherished, waiting patiently for the permanent family she deserves. It is hoped that her future will be filled with happiness, comfort, and the love she has long awaited.
