In a heart-wrenching situation, a mother dog and her puppies were abandoned at an empty house in Arkansas. The mama dog, driven by her instinct to protect, hid her puppies under the house, feeling helpless yet determined to keep them safe.
Animal rescuer Shyan Noah learned about this abandoned family through a Facebook post and immediately set out to help. When she arrived, other rescuers had already attempted to reach the dogs, but the protective mother refused their assistance. Despite this, some of her puppies were inadvertently captured during these early efforts.

Upon reaching the scene, Noah could see the exhaustion and sadness in the mother’s eyes. To gain her trust, Noah sat with her, offering food and reassurance. While the mama dog was wary and reluctant to trust humans again, Noah’s persistence paid off. Gradually, she began feeding from Noah’s hand and allowed brief touches.
Noah described to The Dodo how she felt successful after earning the mother’s trust, as she began to pet and feed her. Given the continued hesitant behavior of the mother dog, the rescuers set up a humane trap to ensure her safety. Finally, their efforts bore fruit, and the mother was rescued.

The focus then shifted to rescuing the puppies, who were as scared as their mother and remained hidden for days. The rescuers eventually managed to bring them to safety and discovered they were plagued by ticks and fleas. Initially wary, the puppies soon warmed up to their caregivers after being showered with food and affection.
The mama dog quickly won the heart of one of the rescuers, who decided to adopt her. Meanwhile, Noah took the puppies to foster them, where they thrived in a loving environment. Described as energetic and playful, the puppies keep their foster family on their toes, often squeezing through gates to explore their surroundings.

NOVASTAR RESCUE in Dover, Arkansas, has vowed to help these puppies find permanent, loving homes. It’s only a matter of time before these sweet pups capture the hearts of families who will give them the love and joy they deserve.
