Meet Sundae, a Remarkable Rescue Dog
Sundae spent her entire life in a cluttered backyard and cold garage until she was rescued by Country Roads Animal Rescue Society from a dog-hoarding situation in Oklahoma City. This coonhound and Labrador retriever mix even gave birth to a litter of puppies without ever knowing the comforts of a home.

Her life took a warm turn when her foster mom introduced her to the luxury of a cozy bed. The moment her head hit the pillow, Sundae’s expression of relief was unmistakable, and she knew she was finally safe.
“We’ve had her for about a week, and you’d never know she’s never been an indoor dog before,” shared her foster mom, who goes by Mugglequeen on Reddit. “She’s completely potty trained, incredibly gentle, and very well-mannered indoors.”

Mugglequeen chose the name Sundae because it matched her sweet personality and her unique chocolate, vanilla, and caramel coloring. Initially, Sundae was wary of men but warmed up after a pair of her foster mom’s boyfriend’s shorts were left on her favorite spot – the bed.
Now, Sundae is a loving and affectionate companion, eagerly seeking out cuddles whenever she can. “She loves to sleep as close as possible to me in bed,” Mugglequeen noted. “I think she’s just making up for eight years of no affection.”

After years without proper care, Sundae is undergoing necessary medical treatment. While the vet discovered she has heartworm and needs some dental work, she is otherwise healthy. While her puppies are being looked after by other foster families, Sundae’s main task now is to wait for her perfect forever family to find her.
“Her ideal family would have a laid-back lifestyle and plenty of patience to help her continue to come out of her shell and build confidence,” Mugglequeen explained. “She’ll stay with me until that perfect family comes along!”

It hopefully won’t be long before a loving family welcomes Sundae into their home, gaining a devoted snuggle buddy in the process.
