Lexus, a homeless dog, didn’t have a safe place to go when she went into labor. She found herself in a run-down backyard, giving birth to her puppies while crying throughout the night.
A family noticed her plight and reached out to an organization called “Hope For Paws” for assistance.

When the rescuers arrived, Lexus became frightened as they shone a flashlight on her in the dark yard. Fortunately, the neighbors joined forces to calm the situation and keep Lexus within a safe boundary.
With time being of the essence, the rescue team quickly moved to where Lexus had delivered her pups.
Upon reaching the puppies, the rescuers were met with heartbreak. Unfortunately, one puppy had already died, while the others were barely clinging to life.

As they transported Lexus to a shelter, she was still caring for her puppies when she suddenly experienced a sharp pain in her abdomen.
An X-ray revealed that she had ingested a metal bottle cap, likely due to scavenging for food in trash cans to avoid starvation.
Since Lexus was still nursing her puppies, surgery was not an option. Instead, the rescuers had to induce vomiting to help her expel the foreign objects from her stomach. Afterward, Lexus felt much better.
