First Look at “Fly Me to the Moon” Starring Scarlett Johansson and Channing Tatum

Last Update:

Sony and Apple have released the first trailer for “Fly Me to the Moon,” a romantic comedy starring Scarlett Johansson and Channing Tatum, scheduled to premiere on July 12.

Set during the 1960s space race, the film features Johansson as a marketing executive hired by NASA to film a fake moon landing in case the real mission fails.

Apple secured the project for $100 million after a bidding war in 2022, previously known as “Project Artemis.”

Initially, Chris Evans was cast in Tatum’s role, with Oscar nominee Johansson, who also produces the film, attached since its inception.

However, Jason Bateman, initially set to direct, left due to creative differences, disrupting the shooting schedule.

This led to Evans’ departure, as he couldn’t balance this project with Netflix’s “Pain Hustlers.” Bateman previously shared with Variety that the film would be set around the iconic moon landing.

Scarlett Johansson recently told People magazine about her experience working with Tatum, describing him as “an easy-going actor, good-spirited and professional.”

She added, “Falling in love with him onscreen was pretty easy. He’s such a likable person.” Johansson plays Kelly, opposite Tatum’s character Cole.

The chemistry between the two actors, who portray contrasting personalities, adds an intriguing dynamic to the romantic comedy.
