Colin Jost’s Hilarious Take on Watching Wife Scarlett Johansson’s Romantic Scenes

Last Update:

Colin Jost recently shared his amusing reaction to watching his wife, Scarlett Johansson, in a montage of kisses featuring several of her famous co-stars.

The Saturday Night Live star, 42, who married Johansson, 39, in 2020, recalled the moment he saw a compilation of his wife’s romantic scenes, including steamy kisses from her latest film Fly Me To The Moon, where she stars alongside Channing Tatum.

Johansson has played opposite several high-profile actors in her career, including Jonathan Rhys Meyers in Match Point, Bradley Cooper in He’s Just Not That Into You, Matt Damon in We Bought A Zoo, Ewan McGregor in The Island, Hugh Jackman in Scoop, and Penelope Cruz in Vicky Cristina Barcelona.

In an interview with The New York Times, when asked if watching his wife kiss others onscreen made him jealous, Jost humorously responded, “I think if I was, at this point, I’d be in trouble.”

He also reminisced about a moment when a montage of Johansson’s kissing scenes was shown during her acceptance of the American Cinematheque Award.

“I was like, ‘OK, there you go. I’m glad someone put it together in one package,’” Jost said with a laugh.

Jost, who shares a son, Cosmo, with Johansson, also praised her parenting skills. “I think part of the reason I fell in love with her is she’s a great mom,” he said.

He mentioned that he’s known Johansson’s daughter, Rose, since she was two, adding, “It’s weird. You get to preview someone as a mom.”

Reflecting on Johansson’s ability to maintain a sense of normalcy despite her fame, Jost shared, “She goes to the supermarket. She’s just very good at wearing a hat and she keeps moving. She can stay a little under the radar, but she’s able to do all these everyday things and enjoy them, too.”

Johansson recently revealed that Jost made a cameo in Fly Me To The Moon. During an appearance on Jimmy Kimmel Live!, she joked that the film’s director, Greg Berlanti, is a “huge fan” of Jost, adding, “I think he had to do it because it’s like in our prenuptial agreement. If I have to do something, he has to be there to support me.”

When asked if Jost helps her rehearse lines, Johansson explained, “I run lines with him, which is great. You’d think that would be very convenient because you have a partner there to help you out. But he does like real serious line readings, and it’s not always the performance I want it to be.”

Fly Me To The Moon, which Johansson co-produced through her These Pictures production company, also stars Jim Rash, Anna Garcia, Noah Robbins, Ray Romano, and Woody Harrelson. The film is set to hit theaters on July 12, 2024.
