After years of captivity in the circus, Chada was later sold to a private individual who ultimately abandoned her.
Left in a small, dilapidated cage on the industrial outskirts of Kyiv, Ukraine, she endured a bleak existence for seven more years until her eventual rescue by animal activists.
At 25 years old and in a heartbreaking state, Chada was found by the Save Wild Foundation, an organization dedicated to rescuing bears and wolves and providing them with a chance for a better life.
The bear was in poor health, nearly toothless, and her vision had significantly deteriorated. Thanks to the Foundation’s intervention and medical attention, Chada finally experienced the sweetness of freedom.
Chada was moved to a Ukrainian wildlife sanctuary, where she could roam freely and safely. Her release was an emotional moment for her rescuers, marking the first time she touched grass and played in water since being taken from her natural environment two decades earlier.
The sanctuary, home to numerous rescued wolves and bears, is committed to helping as many animals as possible.
Chada is one of the fortunate bears who has benefited from their efforts, finally getting a taste of true freedom and love.
Today, this brave bear spends her days happily playing in the water and napping in the lush grass of her newfound sanctuary home.
Although she endured a lengthy wait to be liberated, Chada is now surrounded by food, ample space, and caring friends and family.
The heartwarming tale of Chada’s rescue was shared by the Save Wild Foundation on social media, captivating people from around the world with her indomitable spirit and the triumph of her newfound life.
In a poignant social media post, the Foundation expressed, “Chada had a hard life but remained a fighter. And she became the star of our bear family because of her character and thirst for life.”
Chada’s story serves as a powerful reminder of the strength and resilience of animals, even after enduring years of hardship and captivity.
Thanks to the dedicated efforts of organizations like Save Wild Foundation, more animals like Chada can find their way back to the life they were meant to live – a life of freedom and love.
