The US Forest Service has recently revealed plans to gather all the incredible wild horses inhabiting the Arizona lands for over a century and remove them from their home.

Despite the Forest Service’s acknowledgment that these horses had resided in the Tonto National Forest for decades before the Wild Free-Roaming Horses and Burros Act was unanimously passed, the government is now deeming them “stray livestock.”
They will begin impounding all “unauthorized” horses from the forest in just two days. Even worse, these horses could be legally sold for slaughter without federal protection.
This cannot be allowed to happen. The Salt River wild horses hold a special place in the hearts of locals and tourists alike. Their preservation is essential as an integral part of the region’s heritage and a crucial natural resource.
According to the Salt River Wild Horse Management Group, the Salt River horses represent one of the most unique wild horse populations globally.
These horses are known for their unusual snorkeling behavior; eelgrass is a nutritious food source. In this rare habitat, newborns learn to swim within their first week and are later taught to “snorkel.”
The local community and tourists worldwide cherish the Salt River wild horses. The Forest Service’s plan to eradicate this great herd has sparked public outrage.
