Briony Smith, Curator at The Big Cat Sanctuary, expressed gratitude for the public’s involvement in naming the cubs, stating, “The public’s participation in naming our snow leopard cubs was heartwarming.”

“Zaya and Attan are not only ambassadors for their endangered species but also symbols of hope for the conservation efforts we undertake here at The Big Cat Sanctuary,” she added.

According to the sanctuary, Zaya is the more outgoing of the pair, enjoying playtime with boomer balls and jumping around with her mother, Laila.

Attan, on the other hand, is initially more reserved but is gradually becoming more adventurous.

Snow leopards, classified as vulnerable by the International Union for Conservation of Nature (IUCN), are crucial in protecting endangered species.
