Angelina Jolie’s Lawyer Urges Brad Pitt to End Their Bitter Legal Feud, Accuses Actor of ‘Shameful Cover-Up’

In an unusual public appeal, Angelina Jolie’s attorney, Paul Murphy, urged Brad Pitt to “let her go” amidst ongoing legal battles. The plea comes as Pitt is accused of manipulating legal proceedings to generate media attention and maintain control over Jolie.

Murphy stated, “She looks forward to the day when he can finally let her go.” Jolie’s legal team claims that Pitt’s recent filings are part of a “shameful cover-up” of his alleged abuse and an attempt to control her by requiring an NDA for the sale of her share of their vineyard, Chateau Miraval.

The conflict intensified after a former bodyguard’s declaration, submitted by Pitt, accused Jolie of alienating their children from him. Jolie’s team is seeking to dismiss this filing, arguing it is irrelevant and violates due process.

Reports indicate that Jolie’s eldest children, Maddox, Pax, and Zahara, have strained or nonexistent relationships with Pitt. Pax publicly criticized his father on Instagram three years ago, calling him a “world-class a**hole” and an “awful human being” who instilled fear in his children.

The couple’s legal battle extends to their French vineyard, which Jolie sold to billionaire Yuri Sheffler, defying an alleged agreement to offer Pitt the first refusal. Pitt contends that Jolie’s sale was part of her efforts to control him.

Murphy criticized Pitt’s misuse of NDAs, stating, “Mr. Pitt’s continued attempt to equate common NDAs with his demand for an expanded NDA to cover up his deplorable actions remains shameful. This case is about power and control.”

The bodyguard’s declaration, submitted by former SAS soldier Tony Webb, claims Jolie tried to prevent security contractors from testifying about their custody dispute. Webb alleges that Jolie’s assistant, Michael Vieira, warned him the security contractors had signed NDAs and that Jolie would sue if they testified.

Jolie’s legal team maintains that Pitt’s motion and the Webb declaration aim to create a media spectacle and exert external pressure on her. They argue that the evidence presented by Pitt lacks relevance and credibility, as it does not directly relate to the NDA dispute or the vineyard sale.

The divorce, filed by Jolie in 2016 following an alleged altercation on a private plane, has been marked by accusations of abuse and control. Jolie’s legal filings suggest that Pitt’s abusive behavior began before the 2016 incident and continued to affect their children, causing ongoing trauma.

Despite the FBI’s investigation, which led to no charges against Pitt, Jolie’s attorneys claim to have substantial evidence of his abuse, including testimonies, emails, and photographs. They argue that Pitt’s actions during their marriage were coercive and controlling.

The high-profile couple, who met on the “Mr. and Mrs. Smith” set in 2004, share six children. Their legal battle over custody, financial control, and property has been ongoing for nearly seven years. A decision on Pitt’s NDA motion is expected on May 16, with a full trial anticipated later this year.
