Fostering a dog can be a significant responsibility, especially when that dog is expecting puppies. Carter, who decided to foster a pregnant dog named Pebbles, quickly realized how much work lay ahead.

Pebbles, a gentle and obedient dog, formed a close bond with Carter. However, this was Carter’s first experience fostering a pregnant dog, and she felt unprepared for what would come.

By 2 a.m., Pebbles had delivered a few puppies with Carter’s help. Carter initially believed that Pebbles had finished giving birth after seeing five puppies nursing and felt confident she could manage them all.

To Carter’s surprise, Pebbles went into labor again, and more puppies began to arrive. When the birthing process was finally complete, Carter counted 14 puppies.

Despite the overwhelming number, Pebbles was a devoted mother, attentively caring for her large litter. She cleaned her puppies, took them outside to explore, and watched over them as they played.

As the puppies grew, the time came for them to be adopted. This was an emotional moment for Carter, who felt she was sending her children out into the world.
