In a heartbreaking scene, several dogs were found in dire condition, stacked atop one another. Emaciated and deprived of food and water, these animals appeared to be on the brink of death.
Among them were three dogs resorting to eating the body of another that had not survived.
It’s unclear how long these animals had been left in such neglect, nor is it known who abandoned them. Immediate veterinary care was essential to offer them any hope of recovery.
One of the dogs, affectionately called Bono, was particularly weak upon rescue. He was suffering from a severe infection and anemia. However, there has been some improvement in his health.
Unfortunately, Bono’s recovery is further complicated by an injury to his tail that had become infested with worms, slowing his healing process.
Despite these challenges, efforts are underway to provide Bono with the necessary treatment to help him regain his strength and return to health.
